COMBAT SIXTEEN
a film by mirko borscht

sixteen year old georg has to move from frankfurt/main (western germany) to frankfurt/oder (eastern germany) because his single father andreas got work as an architect on a new shopping center. georg had a tight circle of friends, was in love with his best friend, jasmin and was so close to achieving his big dream of getting the regional championship title in taekwondo. now he has to go to a strange new place and start all over again from the beginning. georg, “the new kid“ gets attention from thomas, the leader of a right wing clique in georg’s class. since georg can’t find a new taekwondo club, he lets himself be lured into a provisional training camp. in spite of the resistence in the beginning, georg becomes more and more a part of the clique. until a big fight comes! egged on by fear, hopelessness and envy, georg and thomas realize that their differences are not so great.
